Douglas Farrell - Managing Partner

Douglas Farrell brings over 20 years of financial services leadership experience with a distinguished track record of advising on mergers and acquisitions transactions totaling over $100 billion across Asia Pacific, North America, and Europe.

As Founder and Managing Partner of Quintet Partners since 2016, Douglas has lead capital raising of over A$300 million in capital across 40 investments and successfully completing 23 exits. The firm's diverse portfolio spans private equity, credit, and real estate assets, delivering positive returns for institutional and family office investors.

Douglas also served as Deputy CEO, Head of Finance and Investment at Vinhomes Real Estate JSC, playing a key leadership role in its restructuring and US$3 billion IPO, which listed on the Ho Chi Minh stock exchange with a US$13 billion valuation.

Prior to establishing Quintet Partners, Douglas spent more than 15 years in investment banking in Australia and Asia. He was Managing Director and Head of M&A and Real Estate for Australia and New Zealand at Citigroup in Sydney, having previously served as Head of M&A Sales & Divestitures for Asia Pacific in Hong Kong. He also held senior roles with Nomura International, Lehman Brothers and Deutsche Bank.

Over his career, Douglas has advised on more than US$100 billion of mergers, acquisitions and other corporate transactions across Asia Pacific, North America and Europe, working with clients including Westfield, Woolworths, Heineken and KKR.

Douglas is an Independent Non-Executive Director of L1 Gold Fund Limited and L1 Global Long Short Fund Limited. He also serves on the boards of Ashley & Martin, Talent International, APV Valuers & Asset Management and Derwent Search. Douglas is also Chair of the Australian World Orchestra, a not-for-profit arts organisation.

Douglas began his career in corporate restructuring and insolvency with SimsPartners, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) and Bachelor of Applied Finance from Macquarie University and is a graduate of Sydney Grammar School.
