Douglas Farrell - Managing Partner

Douglas Farrell brings over 20 years of financial services leadership experience with a distinguished track record of advising on mergers and acquisitions transactions totaling over $100 billion across Asia Pacific, North America, and Europe.

As Founder and Managing Partner of Quintet Partners since 2016, Douglas has lead capital raising of over A$300 million in capital across 40 investments and successfully completing 23 exits. The firm's diverse portfolio spans private equity, credit, and real estate assets, delivering positive returns for institutional and family office investors.

Douglas also served as Deputy CEO, Head of Finance and Investment at Vinhomes Real Estate JSC, playing a key leadership role in its restructuring and US$3 billion IPO, which listed on the Ho Chi Minh stock exchange with a US$13 billion valuation.

Prior to establishing Quintet Partners, Douglas held several prominent roles in investment banking, including Managing Director at Citigroup in Sydney as Head of M&A and Real Estate for Australia & New Zealand, and in Hong Kong as Head of M&A Sales & Divestitures for Asia Pacific. His career also includes positions at Nomura International in Hong Kong, Lehman Brothers in Sydney , and Deutsche Bank in Sydney.

Currently, Douglas serves as Chair of the Australian World Orchestra and holds board positions with APV, Derwent Search, and Talent International. Douglas began his career as an insolvency practitioner at PWC (SimsPartners) in Sydney, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant (ICAA). He holds dual Bachelor's degrees in Commerce (Accounting) and Applied Finance from Macquarie University and is a graduate of Sydney Grammar School.
